Questions people ask before trusting a list

Who writes this, whether the criteria can be checked, why there are no prices here, what a roster record proves, and what happens to a partner link.

About this desk

Who is behind it? An editorial desk publishing under a single attribution. Page-level reasoning for that choice is on the about page.

Is this a shop? No. There is no cart, no stock, no order form and no payment step anywhere on the site. This desk never sees an order.

Why are there no product photographs? Because a product photograph makes a page into a catalogue page, and catalogues are a solved and crowded form. The graphics here are diagrams of what to look for, drawn for this site.

About the criteria

Can I check a criterion rather than trust it? Yes, and that is the point of the evidence level and the check date on every judging point. A criterion that cannot be checked against the photographs you were sent is not written properly.

What if I disagree with a threshold? Send it through the correction channel with the observation behind it. A threshold that cannot be explained to someone who disagrees is usually badly written.

Why does the scorecard sometimes refuse to answer? Because a criterion cannot be applied to a photograph that does not show the part. Where a step requires a specific angle and the seller sent a wide shot, the point is discarded rather than counted, and enough discards produce no verdict.

About the roster

Why are there no shop names? Because a name invites a claim this desk cannot support. A record describes a direction, the source type behind it and how many observations were read. That is what can be defended.

What does a record prove? That a direction has been publicly discussed in a certain way, with a countable number of observations, on a stated date. It proves nothing about the next order placed with it.

What removes a record? Unverifiable sources, a direction that stops being identifiable, materially changed dispute reports, or two missed review windows. The method page carries the full rule.

Do the links change what I pay? No. The link carries a marker identifying this desk as the source of the visit, and nothing about the price.

Do they change the criteria? No, and the partner links page says how to verify that for yourself rather than taking it on trust.

Can I read everything without using them? Yes. Every judging point, gauge, record and article is readable without following a single partner link.

About the numbers

Why are duty figures given as estimates? Because they are estimates. They come from published bands recorded with a check date, and they are not a customs determination or tax advice.

Where does a sample size come from? From the number of public observations an editor actually read while producing a record or a parameter. Where nothing was counted, the field says no sample rather than carrying an estimate.

What happens when a figure goes stale? Parameters at the highest review tier expire after thirty days. When one has, the gauge labels it and the figure is treated as a placeholder.
